Once Upon A Time....

As a child, before we could afford electricity -- and we never had a telephone; I would play outside and do chores for the night, such as: bring in water from the spring or well. When the sun went down we would sit out on the porch listening to the call of whippoorwills.' A light glowed through a window from a kerosene lamp. This time of evening gave my grandmother the perfect chance to tell stories of her childhood growing up in the South. It is from grandmother's tales that "A Bride In Waiting" and "The Restless Confederate" was inspired. I was at the age of seventeen when she passed away. But it is through her lagacy of inspiration that left such an impact on my life of seventeen years in which the words of her timeless stories that held me captive as a child has now become "Whispers of The South."
