All Entries Receive a Response from Sheila. Sheila Bender is a big believer
in the revision process. Beginning June 1st, we will be experimenting
with a new kind of contest where revisions are part of the plan. Here's
the overview:
Step 1 - You submit an entry and Sheila responds.
Step 2 - You can either keep your entry as is for the contest or revise
it and resubmit for consideration in the contest before the contest
deadline, August 31st. The contest will be judged by a guest editor
and winners will be announced in the fall. There will be prizes and
the winners will be published in Writing It Real. The No-Contest Contest
Submission Guidelines: Submit: Up to six double-spaced pages of prose
or three poems. Sheila will respond to your work within two weeks of
receiving it. Entry Fee: Entry fee for subscribers is $15 and for non-subscribers
it is $45 and includes a years subscription ($30 value) to Writing
It Real. Electronic Payment: International as well as U.S. entrants
may pay their reading fee electronically using a credit card or through
PayPal using the submission form below. If these methods are not available
